The Burning Flower

I will heal on my own in time

Like a forest that has caught fire

Time will heal me
and with the ashes, a new hope can grow
maybe into a great tree...maybe a delicate flower

only time will tell

it is quite possible that I may end up as a tiny flower inside a strong tree...
and then an axe-man comes through and chops me down to find the flower inside,
plucking it and claiming it as his....
I hope he does not choose to burn it

but to replant it and water it

tread carefully with your candle
even though I am still buried in ashes...it does not mean I can't feel anything burning

Remember...love is a flame
I seek...a cool friendly stream
of water
a river
to wash away the ashes
I know not of what form the river takes, though
I guess I'll know when it happens

but if that river is too deep, I'll drown
